Permanent Memorial for Chief Judge John M. Roll

Re: Permanent Memorial for Chief Judge John M. Roll

Dear Colleagues and Friends:

The William D. Browning Tucson Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, in fellowship with the Arizona District Court, has commissioned Tucson artist Nicholas Burke to create a sculpture and permanent memorial to Chief Judge John M. Roll.

With the blessing and cooperation of Judge Roll's beloved wife Maureen, a bust of Judge Roll is being fashioned and will be placed in the lobby of the DeConcini Federal Courthouse. The expected completion date and unveiling is the late spring or fall of 2012. We believe this permanent memorial will reflect both the legal community's and whole community's deep respect and admiration for the man and career of Judge Roll.

The William D. Browning Chapter of the FBA is seeking $22,000.00 in private contributions to create this permanent memorial. We hope that all friends of the federal court, who share with us the desire to mark the impact Judge Roll had on our legal system, will contribute to the effort. The Foundation of the Federal Bar Association, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, has partnered with us to accept the donations for this effort. To contribute to this permanent memorial to Judge Roll please send a check to:

Foundation of the Federal Bar Association
1220 North Fillmore St., Ste. 444
Arlington, VA 22201

Be sure to indicate the purpose of the contribution as: “Judge Roll Memorial.” Contributions to the Foundation of the Federal Bar Association may be treated charitable contributions for tax purposes.

Our Chapter thanks you for your support for this worthy memorial.

Sincerely,
s/Rebecca K. O'Brien
